LeadWell

A Professional Collective Focused on Women, Work, Wealth & Wellness

Leadership + Culture

We set a goal of 50 attendees at the kickoff event. More than 100 CHROs, HR practitioners and business leaders/decision-makers attended the event. Post-even survey feedback was overwhelmingly positive on the topic covered (Designing Workplaces that Work: A panel on Burnout, Balance and Bold Solutions), venue selected, and likelihood to attend future events.

IMPACT

To create a community of fellow leaders tackling today’s most pressing workplace challenges, a group of Louisville professionals (who frequently partner with HR and business leaders), created the LeadWell Professional Collective. This event series, focused on women, work, wealth and wellness, kicked off in the fall of 2025, with additional events planned for 2026.

Our vision for the community and event series is to curate conversations with topics and experts that meet the moment we’re in and do so with candor, boldness, creativity - and humor. Together, we hope to inspire the design of more “workplaces that work” across our community so that women (and all workers) can thrive.

Through thought leadership, collaboration, and practical strategies, LeadWell will serve as an ongoing platform to address issues such as burnout, flexibility, generational change, and the future of leadership.
It will be a “well” leaders can return to when they need to recommit to (or be re-inspired to) build workplace benefits, policies, norms and cultures that reduce burnout, restore balance, and implement bold solutions that prioritize women’s wealth and well-being.

To help reach our target audience, we partnered with the Louisville chapter of the Society for Human Resources Management (LSHRM). This enabled attendees to earn continuing education (CE) credits for attending each event.

Sponsors were also secured to help offset program costs. A portion of ticket sales was donated to the Leadership Louisville Women’s Leadership Scholarship Fund, enabling access leadership programs that inspire growth, confidence, and community impact.

Finally, to ensure events are relevant and valuable to attendees, we collect input from the audience, which also informs the content and focus of future events.

APPROACH

From the social and emotional to the practical and even legal - HR practitioners’ responsibilities run the gamut. They are an integral part of the leadership team, addressing issues, designing policies and making decisions to keep organizations operating effectively. Meanwhile, they must stay on top of the latest in employer benefit offerings, generational trends impacting the workplace, and recruitment and retention strategies. This doesn’t even factor in learning and development and serving as stewards of employee well-being and company culture. Not only does their role require a staggering level of knowledge, expertise, (and endurance), but it also can be quite isolating.

The Work

Amy Anthony, SHRM-CP

“ This entire program wouldn’t have existed without you and Jac! You both deserve all the flowers and accolades. Having spent 20 years in this field, I can honestly say few
people have impressed me the way you did. It was an absolute honor to work alongside
you and see your passion in action — you’re truly amazing!”
